NFL Free Agent Safety Keith Fitzhugh Turns Down A Chance To Play For The New York Jets

Yahoo Sports – It’s not often that you see a perfectly healthy, NFL-ready person turn down an offer to join the roster of a playoff team, but Mississippi State grad Keith Fitzhugh, who has spent time with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free-agent safety, has decided to respectfully decline a recent offer by the Jets to be a part of their active roster. Continue Reading

NFL Free agent safety Keith Fitzhugh has turned down a job offer from the New York Jets to join their roster. He chose to continue to work as a conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad where he makes a little over $30,000 dollars.

Keith Fitzhugh has turned down a chance to play for the New York Jets to support his family.

The New York Jets need help in the secondary after losing Jim Leonhard to a broken tibia he received during practice on Dec. 3, 2010.

Keith Fitzhugh is no joke, the 24 year old looks more than ready to play safety in the NFL in his highlight video.

But the reality is that people are simply happy to have a job these days. The economy is terrible.

The NFL will most likely be locked out next year. And even if they do play next year, he could get cut when Jim Leonhard recovers from his injury.

Conductor Keith Fitzhugh would rather keep his job security right now…and I don’t blame him.

Times are real hard right now. Times are so hard these days that cash, every week, in your pocket, beats the potential to make millions.

People may think he’s crazy but Keith is just playing it safe like a true NFL safety does.

Like his agent Daniel Rose said “This is his dream, to play. I don’t think this is the last you’ve heard of Keith .”
