The Atlanta Hawks and Al Horford have agreed to terms on a 5 year $60 million contract extension.

Al Horford Slam Dunks The Competition & Gets Paid

The center from the Dominican Republic has averaged a double-double for points & rebounds in his first 3 seasons coming out of the University of Florida.

Last year, he made the All-Star team for the first time averaging 9.9 rpg & 14.2 ppg.

The Hawks got off cheap considering Joakim Noah was given $60 million for 5 years by the Chicago Bulls.

Joakim Noah is a glorified role-player who will never make the All-Star team while Horford can make it to the All-Star game 2 years in a row.

Al Horford’s team has also performed better in the past 3 years making it to the playoffs each year and making it past the first round in the last 2 seasons.

The Bulls haven’t made it past the first round in the same span of time.

Furthermore, Al Horford’s game is the style of a forward in the NBA but he plays center for the Hawks because they need him there.

Al Horford was born in Puerto Plata and is the son of former NBA player, Tito Horford.

He will serve as a spokesperson for the NBA’s campaign to market the league to Hispanics in the U.S and around the world.
