Gilbert Arenas Says He Will “Move On” After Helping John Wall

SportsIllustrated – Here’s how Gilbert Arenas looks at his role with the Washington Wizards: show top pick John Wall the ropes, then “move on.”
Arenas spoke after the Wizards’ preseason opener against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, the first time he was met with reporters since his brief comments on the eve of training camp. He was again expressionless, maintaining the serious demeanor he presented to the public throughout camp. Continue Reading…

Gilbert Arenas can't be taken seriously

Gilbert Arenas says he will “move on” after showing rookie John Wall the ropes.

After the Washington Wizards preseason opener against the Dallas Mavericks Arenas said “Right now I’m out there to hit open shots, teach John the ins and the outs of the game, and then eventually go on and move on – on my way,”

He also said “This is the NBA. There’s few players that stay in the same city, so right now the city is John’s.”

“When I came in, Larry (Hughes) moved aside for me to become a star, and I’m moving aside for (Wall) to become a star.”

At a time when Arenas should be on his best behavior he continues to dig himself a grave. He just has a way of always saying and doing the wrong thing.

NBA Commissioner David Stern told Gilbert Arenas before the season started not to talk about the past. So what does he do??

He talks about the past by talking about the way he feels in the present when he said  “I lost all feeling a long time ago,” he said. “Basketball is basketball now, no matter what floor I’m on.”

The cockiness and bravado of Gilbert Arenas is what made him a star in the NBA but it is now becoming his downfall and he doesn’t seem to know how to turn the “act” off.

Gilbert Arenas needs to choose his words carefully because he is very expendable to the entire league. He was barely an All-Star at the top of his game and now he’s in the last part of his career with a bum knee. The Wizards have a better point guard in John Wall and not many other teams will want Arenas with his behavioral problems and inflated contract worth $111 million dollars.

We can’t forget Gilbert Arenas did drop 60 pts on Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
