Haiti’s Earthquake Occured 8 Months, 17 Days ago & Not A Cent Has Been Spent On Reconstruction

George Bush & Bill Clinton In Haiti Doing The Routine

Huffington Post – Nearly nine months after the earthquake, more than a million Haitians still live on the streets between piles of rubble. One reason: Not a cent of the $1.15 billion the U.S. promised for rebuilding has arrived.

The money was pledged by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in March for use this year in rebuilding. The U.S. has already spent more than $1.1 billion on post-quake relief, but without long-term funds, the reconstruction of the wrecked capital cannot begin. Continue Reading…

Haiti’s earthquake occurred on Jan. 12, 2010, which was 8 months and 17 days ago today.

Not a penny of the $1.15 billion dollars pledged has been spent on Haiti.

The Haitian people have been struggling to receive shelter, food, and medical attention for 8 months and 17 days.

The Obama administration did the usual ‘song & dance’ after the earthquake. Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, George Bush, Michelle Obama & Barack Obama all visited Haiti to express their “genuine” care for the impoverished, tragedy-strucken nation.

The media gave Haiti plenty of hype with on-site reporting, tribunals and directly showed how dire the situation and environment of Haiti was.

But it has been 8 months & 17 days since the earthquake hit Haiti. Where is the media at now?? The situation is just as bad over there. A recent storm in Haiti killed 6 and injured over 100 as shelters were ruined.

Do these politicians really want us to believe they won’t sign off because they believe a measly $5 million dollars out of the $1.15 billion dollars pledged will be wasteful??

They blame it on bureaucracy, disorganization and a lack of urgency. But it’s more simple than that.

The U.S government simply doesn’t give a fuck about Haiti and it’s woes. An independent black nation in the Caribbean is of no use to the United States.

Why the f*ck cant the people of Haiti get some long-term reconstruction money?

I can go on and on. But this broken promise made by our president, Barack Obama, should sum it all up.
