Ugly Side of the Anti-Ground Zero Mosque Protests

According to Bobby Ghosh and Dearborn in the Aug 30, 2010 issue of TIME,  “You don’t have to be prejudiced against Islam to believe, as many Americans do, that ground zero is sacred. ” Miss USA Rima Fakih, a muslim, said the center “shouldn’t be so close to the World Trade Center. We should be more concerned with tragedy than religion.”

The proposed “mosque” will be a place of worship for followers of the Islam religion 2 NYC blocks away from ground zero. The video clearly shows that these protests are about more than just ground zero. From scholars to beauty contestants, most people have not checked the facts.

The mosque can not be seen from ground zero and will part of a larger block that should overshadow it.  Opposing a place of religious worship for the wrong reasons and hiding behind the tragedy that was 9/11 is not a good reflection on us as Americans.

Clearly has not checked the facts
